Our story
Built on relationships, not transactions
HJ Property Care was founded in 2024 with a simple vision: to give homeowners and businesses throughout the Bitterroot Valley and Missoula area a property care company they could genuinely trust. After years managing large landscape operations and thousands of residential and commercial projects, Adam Hurlbert set out to build something different — a company centered on relationships, communication, and craftsmanship.
He's joined by Justin Johnson, an ISA Certified Arborist and lifelong Bitterroot Valley resident whose background spans tree care, construction, fencing, and outdoor living spaces. Together, Adam and Justin combine professional landscape management, certified arboriculture, construction, and irrigation into one company capable of caring for an entire property — not just one part of it.
The Bitterroot Valley isn't just where we work — it's where we live, raise our families, and invest in the future of our community. We understand the region's climate, soils, trees, and landscapes because we're part of the communities we serve every day.

We believe in supporting the communities we serve. HJ Property Care is proud to be a Grand Slam Sponsor of North Bitterroot Little League, and we love supporting local youth sports and community organizations whenever we can.
This past season, we removed seven large pines from the league's parking lot, installed temporary outfield fencing for two fields, and pitched in on the NBLL park clean-up day — because being a trusted part of the Bitterroot Valley means showing up for our neighbors, not just our customers.
